The Hetz Midget Thuja is a small evergreen bush that grows slowly to a maximum height of 3 feet tall and the same or a little more across. It is a hardy plant that will grow from zone 3 to zone 7 and is most suitable for cooler parts of the country. It is a great choice for a no-maintenance evergreen bush for foundation planting around a house, or in a line to make a low border around a larger bed. It is also attractively planted in rockeries or in pots and it is a great plant for smaller gardens as it will never outgrow its allotted space. Wherever you need a round evergreen, just think Hetz and you can’t go wrong. The leaves are always green, no matter how cold it gets, and this plant just bounce back in spring, untroubled by freezing temperatures.
Perfect miniature shrub for small spaces
Ideal accent plant, or edging
Rich green foliage all year round
Hardy to minus 40 degrees
Great in pots too
Plant the Hetz Midget Thuja in a sunny or partially-shaded location, in almost any soil, including damp ones, but not in permanently wet soil, it needs no maintenance to stay a perfect small ball, but if you want perfection, you can clip it as needed. Water it regularly in the first season, and after that it will take care of itself in anything but extended drought periods. A little evergreen fertilizer in spring will keep it perfect., but in most soils even that is not necessary. It has no significant pests or diseases and if any plant is zero-maintenance, this has to be the one.
